The SMASCAN antenna is a replacement antenna and is not guaranteed to work better than the antenna supplied with your scanner, however, the SMASCAN is designed for specific frequencies where the antenna supplied with your scanner may not be tuned for any particular frequency.

Best Performance On: 70MHz to 85MHz, 118MHz to 136MHz, 420MHz to 480MHz

NOTE: This antenna may not fit neatly onto your scanner
The SMASCAN has a diameter of 12mm at its base and may not fit some radios that have the SMA connector recessed into the radio. If this is the case then the SMAISCAN is the better choice.
