Due to prohibitive costs to ship this antenna by courier as it is 2.7mtrs long, we now ship by Post with the antenna tied up in a circle. On receipt the customer will need to untie and straighten the whip which is doable as it is stainless steel and therefore it’s quite malleable.

Simple Base Station idea - Solution #1 Magnet Base

Any lightweight antenna can be put onto a magnet mount and placed onto a metal roof or a metal railing off a balcony or even upside down on the guttering of a house.

The mobile one DX140RW, DX148RW or the DX160HW are a perfect choice to go with the Mag3.6pl - but Remember, the longer the antenna the better the performance.

You will need to test the antenna as the antenna may need to be tuned or lengthened depending on the dimensions of the metal surface the antenna is on !

Simple Base Station idea - Solution #2 Dipole

   The longer the antennas the better and the more broadband the antenna will be

   It is best if both antennas are identicle but with the bottom antenna slightly longer in order to tune

   If both antennas are pre tuned then it should work ok but it should be tested and fine tuned

   It can be either horizontal or vertical

   It is important that the antenna is not earthed, The base section should be insulated from the mast and not run up along side the mast, this is important.

   One way of mounting this antenna is to insert the bottom antenna inside conduit and mount the conduit to a mast the bottom antenna has to be higher than the mast

   This dipole is by FAR superior than any ground independent 27MHz antenna in many ways

   Only DO NOT mount either top or the bottom of the antenna so that it running along next to any other metal object it must be at least 400mm free of any other antenna.
